Crestwood Avenue Fire Leaves 24 Residents Displaced
A three-alarm fire in North Buffalo displaced 24 residents on Monday morning.
The fire started at a home on Crestwood Avenue, just off Hertel Avenue, around 10:30A.M. with flames and smoke billowing high into the air. The winds also played a factor as the fire spread to two neighboring homes.
Fire crews had the blaze mostly extinguished by 11:00A.M., but the roofs of 91 and 95 Crestwood Avenue were completely destroyed.
One firefighter was injured, and damages have been estimated at a total of $540,000 to the three homes. The cause remains under investigation.
