Buffalo firefighters and city workers responded to a call on Warwick Avenue in Buffalo, after receiving a 9-1-1 call stating that a puppy was trapped inside a sewer drain pipe.

Rescuers were on scene within five minutes and were able to hear the three-month-old puppy but couldn't see it. Crews worked for more than two hours trying everything possible to free the pup, and eventually brought in large equipment to excavate a hole large enough for someone to crawl into.

Buffalo Fire Commissioner Garnell Whitfield said that it took a collaborative effect, but it was definitely worth it in the end.
