American Idol Getting Sued By Contestants

Maybe  they really just weren't that good. There are nine former American Idol contestants who are suing the TV show because they claim that they were kicked off the show for racist reasons.

All nine of them claim that they were publicly kicked off or disqualified by producers of American Idol in an attempt to boost their ratings. All of the contestants suing have had attorney James Freeman in their corner, who sent a letter to the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission to start the lawsuit on behalf of all of his clients.

According to TMZ, Corey Clark, Jaered Andrews, Donnie Williams, Terrell Brittenum, Derrell Brittenum, Thomas Daniels, Akron Watson, Ju'Not Joyner and Chris Golightly are all suing American Idol.

The letter speaks that the show is using a "cruel and inhumane" way to use and humiliate black contestants for ratings on the show week in and week out. Freeman also says the whole thing begins when contestants are asked if they've ever been arrested, which is a violation of California employment law. Due to it being a state law, that is why ‘Idol’ has to ask each of their contestants. When caught or realized that they were or had violated laws, they were kicked off the show. But none of the disqualified contestants were convicted of their charges and that their when kicked off they made the singers look like "violent criminals, liars and sexual deviants."

"We treat everybody the same ... no matter the race, religion or sex ... I think we've always had a fantastic share of talent from contestants both black and white ... I don't think I've ever seen racism at the show”, according to American Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe.

Wait…is it worth noting that Ruben Studdard, Jordin Sparks & Fantasia (all of whom who ‘Idol’) are colored?
