The Buffalo Zoo is sharing some exciting news - A baby giraffe was born over the weekend!

Giraffe parents Agnes and Moke welcomed a 112-pound baby girl named Zuri (a Swahili word meaning beautiful or lovely).

Zuri is now the half baby sister to the male giraffe, Sampson, that was born in October.

The giraffe house at the Buffalo Zoo will be temporarily closed while Agnes and Zuri spend the next few weeks bonding, and the rest of the herd adjust to the baby. However, visitors can view the animals through the windows.
