Did you know that ice cream made with beer is currently not allowed under New York State law?

A bill was introduced last week to allow the sale of ice cream made with beer and hard ciders, after "the measure was put forth at the request of a central New York ice cream maker, said the bill's sponsor, Sen. James Seward, R-Milford, Otsego County," according to WGRZ.

There are a few stipulations about the new products outlined in the bill, including limiting the alcohol content in the ice cream to 5 percent ABV or less and would require the same warning statements that are on other alcoholic products.

New York State already allows for ice cream to be made with wine, according to WGRZ.
