I have a feeling a lot of hipsters on Elmwood may be spitting out their cold-brewed coffee all over their reclaimed-wood kitchen tables...but according to a new study, Buffalo is NOT #1 when it comes to being the best city for beer drinkers.

The rankings were based on:

  • number of microbreweries, brew pubs, and bars PER CAPITA
  • the average Yelp rating for those places
  • the average price for a beer

And the winner was.....wait for it....Portland, MAINE.

Granted, the population is only 66,000 and they have 17 breweries.

The Queen City came in at #23, boasting 8 microbreweries (about 3.1 per 100,000 people), 35.3 bars per 100,000, an average Yelp rating of 3.91, and the average pint weighing in at $3.00.

Our neighbors just east of us in Rochester came in at #13.  You can see where other cities fell here.

But anyone who's ever been to Buffalo, let alone visited, knows the QUALITY of our microbreweries is far superior, our bars are more fun, and hey, at $3 a pint, ya can't go wrong.

Buffalo On Tap showcases all this in 3 sessions...one this Friday, and two on Saturday.  If you've never been, or have been to each of the sold out events in the past, ya GOTTA be at this one!

This event WILL sell out, so don't wait!
