Best Special Occasion Restaurants in Buffalo – Chuck’s Top Five
The food in Buffalo is known around the country. Wings, Beef on Weck, great tacos and hot dogs. But there’s another side to Buffalo dining. Great restaurants with outstanding Chef’s that’s perfect for special occasions. I’ve picked some of my personal favorites, with apologies to all the other restaurants we don’t have space for!
2095 Delaware Avenue in Buffalo.
It’s been there 25 years featuring a seasonal menu of small plates and entrees. Don’t forget to try the house specialty spinach loaf!
Salvatore’s Italian Gardens
6461 Transit Rd. in Depew.
If you’ve never been there, make sure you go. The décor is a Buffalo legend, and the menu is huge. There is something for everyone in the family!
Bacchus Wine Bar & Restaurant
56 West Chippewa St. in Buffalo.
Featuring an extensive wine list of over 200 wines by the glass, half bottle, or bottle.
581 Delaware Avenue.
Housed in a Delaware Avenue mansion for a great vibe. Tempo features contemporary cuisine with an Italian flare. Another great wine list compliments the experience.
The Left Bank
511 Rhode Island Street Buffalo.
Tucked away on Buffalo’s emerging upper west side, the atmosphere is very hip. Word of caution, its always busy and the noise level can get intense. A great menu, including enough choices if you’re vegetarian. I’ve had anniversary dinners there and enjoyed them all!
