Beyonce is already basically a superhero, able to mesmerize crowds and stun the music world with the drop of a single surprise album. According to reports, the "Superpower" singer may actually be in talks to play a comic book character in the next Avengers movie.

British tabloid the Daily Star is claiming an exclusive, in which they say Bey is speaking to Marvel and Disney about a role in one or both of the planned follow-ups to Avengers: Age of Ultron, Infinity War parts 1 and 2.

An unnamed senior Disney executive told the paper, “We would love to have Beyoncé on board, almost certainly as a newcomer to the screen from Marvel’s existing catalogue of comic book characters.” Some of the yet-to-be-portrayed Marvel characters Beyonce's under consideration for include:

Boom-Boom: The alter-ego of Tabitha Smith, a secret agent who hurls energy orbs called "time bombs".

Blink: Clarice Ferguson, a pinkish-purple-skinned superhero most featured in X-Men storylines who can teleport herself and others.

Tigra: A cat-person with claws, superhuman strength and agility.

Hawkeye: A bow and arrow-wielding combat expert, Hawkeye's alias appears to have been surrendered by Jeremy Renner's character in Ultron – and apparently, it's up for grabs.

Beyonce's film projects have been all over the map in terms of quality — her last movie, 2009's Obsessed with Idris Elba, got largely poor reviews. This casting could be a win for both the pop star and Marvel: The last Avengers movie oddly underutilized Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow (relegating her to a love story with Bruce Banner that nobody cared about) while there's a wealth of female Marvel superheroes that could be a boon to the action.

If you're a comics enthusiast with a strong opinion on which Marvel character you'd love to see Beyonce portray, let us know in the comments.
