The Boy Scouts of America announced that they are lifting their ban on openly gay scout leaders and employees.

The organization's National President, Robert Gates, said that policy was unsustainable and most likely would lead to multiple lawsuits in several states, eventually costing the company millions of dollars in legal fees.

Scouting groups that are chartered by Church organizations may still use their own discretion, based on their own beliefs, as the basis for selecting leaders.
