One of America's favorite actors was seen walking with a cane at the New York Film Critics' Circle Awards on Monday. While accepting the award for his work in the film "Moneyball", 48-year-old Brad Pitt explained that his injury was nothing more than "an old man tripping."

Brad went on to explain that he tore a ligament in his knee when he slipped down a hill, while carrying his three-year-old Vivienne. He did manage to walk the red carpet at the award ceremony, and hopes to be cane-free once his injury heals.

Brad Pitt role in "Moneyball" has also been nominated for a Critics' Choice Movie Award and a Golden Globe Award. The Critics Choice Awards will air this Thursday, and the Golden Globe Awards will be handed out on Sunday.
