According to WKBW, Kenmore West High School, Lindbergh Elementary School and Hoover Elementary and Middle Schools were put on lockdown this morning after Town of Tonawanda Police reported a suspicious person in the area.

Schools go into lockout as precaution

12 P.M. UPDATE: WIVB reports that the man has been described as a 60-70-year-old white male with a white beard and wearing a gray sweatshirt, jeans and a baseball cap. Police say they are not aware of any threats against the nearby schools.

ORIGINAL REPORT: Their report adds that around 7:20 a.m., Town of Tonawanda police received numerous calls about a suspicious man walking around the corner of Colvin and Highland with a gun.  The schools were put on lockdown as a precautionary measure.
