After 15 seasons as the Buffalo Sabres head coach, Lindy Ruff is out.  The Sabres started the shortened season with a 6-10-1 record. Ruff was the longest-tenured coach in the NHL. He led the Sabres to the 1999 Stanley Cup Finals.

Ron Rolston, Rochester Americans head coach, will replace Ruff as the Sabres interim head coach until the end of the season.
