Buffalo Serves As Backdrop For Upcoming Film

A California film crew was in Buffalo over the weekend shooting scenes for an upcoming movie called "The Runner."The film focuses on a recovering alcoholic who turns to running as a way to deal with his past.

Crews began filming on Saturday morning near the intersection of Elmwood Ave. and Grote St. in North Buffalo. It turns out that the director, Justin Berardi, was born and raised in Amherst, but now lives in California.

"The Runner" is set to premiere at several film festivals around the country next year.
