The ice boom is coming out, the city's overnight parking restrictions are lifted – we're talking sure signs of warmer weather on the way!

I live near what I call "Calorie Corner" in Tonawanda where Paula's, Ted's, Anderson's and Jim's Steakout are pretty much within walking distance of each other.

As I drove past Anderson's PACKED parking lot, I said to myself, "Now THAT'S a sure sign of spring in WNY!"

So I wanted to know about YOUR neighborhood! What's a sure sign where you live that the warmer weather is upon us?

(Oh, I realize the CALENDAR tells us that too, but let's all just try to play along, yes?)

  • Stacy / Lockport: One of the ways that Lockport knows spring is here, our Tasty Freeze Drive In opens
  • Anonymous:  I wish to remain nameless, but in my neighborhood, the sure sign of spring is when my three nosy neighbors come out of their houses and all gather in the middle of the street to talk about whatever the gossip is. My husband and I call it the Bermuda triangle! Just happened yesterday!
  • Pat / Tonawanda: Mississippi Muds in Tonawanda opens today!!
  • Shaun / Kenmore: The "hipsters" are out in full force on Elmwood #spring
  • Amanda / E. Aurora:  The red caboose opens up!
  • Lori / Orchard Park: Spring by buffalo bills stadium... tulips almost up!
  • Sue / Alden: Sure sign of spring...all the chunky people who got fat over winter are now out walking ! might be to get ice cream buy hey at least they are walking! Ha!
  • Debbie / Buffalo: Signs spring is here...Baby bunnies in my yard...Grocery/Home stores selling flowers
  • Amy / Corfu: The trees are budding!
  • Crystal / Depew: The sure sign of the warm weather in my neighborhood is the ice cream man driving around. There are a ton of kids in my neighborhood so they are there every day during the warm weather season. They came around the other day and I was praying my son did not hear him because I had no cash. They really should start taking credit cards
