Ever wonder how you could help spread more cheer during the holidays?

Delilah explains an idea she had recently found on Facebook called a Blessing Bag. It's simple to put together, but makes a huge difference in the lives of the people you give it to.

I saw the best idea on Facebook recently so I’m passing it along. It’s called a Blessing Bag. It’s a freezer bag filled with personal-sized hygiene products, food, and other things that a person living on the street might use. The next time you pass someone who is looking for your spare change, be ready to give them something worth a lot more and bless their life with a bag full of these necessities…

Freezer bags
Lip balm
Packages of tissues
Travel size toothbrush and toothpaste
Travel size mouthwash
Comb
Soap
Hotel size shampoos
Razor
Shaving cream
Trail mix
Granola bars
Crackers
Pack of gum
Band aids
Coins or predetermined dollar amount
Hand wipes
Warm pair of socks
A pocket rain poncho
Feminine hygiene items (for women)
A nice note or card telling them they are loved!

The ideas are endless. Assemble all the items in the bag, seal it and put in your car where you can grab it quickly. Or, you can assemble several bags like this and drop them off at a homeless shelter to be given out there. You can get your kids involved and share with them the importance of doing a service for those less fortunate. Tis the season of giving, and this seems like a wonderful way to do it.
