Easter Monday is more commonly known as Dyngus Day in English-speaking countries, and celebrated by the Polish community to mark the end of the Lenten Season.

Dyngus Day traditions have origins that trace back to Poland's first monarch Prince Mieszki, who reigned during the 10th century and is considered to be the founder of Poland. Some suggest that Mieszki's baptism into the Holy Roman Church during the Easter Season evolved into what is now known as Dyngus Day.
