A 24-year-old Cheektowaga man has been sentenced to 40 years to life behind bars for the murder of two men and the attempted murder of another man.

Christopher Perkins was found guilty in March and sentenced in Erie County Court on Wednesday.

Authorities say that Perkins fired several shots at a vehicle, killing 31-year-old Benjamin Gerald and 30-year-old Deverin White on the streets of Buffalo.

Christopher Perkins was arrested by U.S. Marshals after he fled to Oklahoma.
