A Cheektowaga woman is charged with child endangerment after she left her 5-year-old son home alone overnight.

Police say that the child called 9-1-1 and hung up. When the police called the number back, the child said that he was hungry, scared and wanted his mom.

When authorities arrived that the Garden Village Apartments, they found the child alone with two dogs. The officer fed the child a bowl of cereal and tried to locate the mother. Twenty-five-year-old Kylesha Monterro arrived home about an hour later and was promptly arrested for endangering the welfare of a minor. The child was then placed in the custody of his grandmother.
