I'm half Irish, half Polish...  and am very proud of both of my heritages.   (Plus I love celebrating both Saint Patrick's Day and Dyngus Day... Ha!)  My father is a "Doherty", and comes from a family of 12 brothers and sisters.  There were lots of large family gatherings growing up...  and sometimes, an Irish song or two.  Here are a few my favorites...

I remember my father singing "The Unicorn" song around Saint Patty's Day...

My dad had a great singing voice... "When Irish Eyes are Smiling" was another favorite...

And, I could never leave out "Danny Boy." When Jerry and I got married, we had family and friends sing songs with the word "love" at the reception... My Uncle Fran got up and did a solo of this song... which ends with the words "I love you so".... He's since past away, but what a great memory...
