It's been a rough season for the Buffalo Sabres, but they seem to be determined to make the most of the time they have left in the season.  Specifically it means knocking off some of the best teams in the league.

Jason Pominville's power play goal in overtime gave the Sabres a 2-1 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning.  It's the second time in two weeks the Sabres have beaten the first place Lightning.

The Sabres were down 1-0 entering the third period, but Evan Rodrigues finally beat Lightning goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy in the third period to tie the game.  Pominville helped set up that tying goal, then his shot in overtime won it.

Chad Johnson was outstanding in goal for the Sabres stopping 21 of 22 shots.  Meanwhile the Sabres put 34 shots on Vasilevskiy.

The Sabres have won 3 of their last 4 games.  They remain in Florida to play the Florida Panthers on Friday night, then host Toronto on Monday night.
