It's been a huge controversial topic for months now, the construction of DAPL (Dakota Access Pipeline). Thousands of Native Americans and protestors have taken to the Standing Rock site to share their disapproval of the project, with worry the oil would spoil their water supply. Today it has been announced that construction on DAPL will stop!

According to CNN the army will not allow proposed DAPL to cross under Lake Oahe in North Dakota. The decision has been made to look into alternative routes. The original DAPL project would have been 1,172 miles long and a $3.7 billion cost.
