The 1980s were one heck of a decade. There were so many amazing things that happened and a lot of not so great things.

My son Avry was working on a school project about the 80s and he was like dad "How would you describe the 80s in one word"?

Now I was born in 1977, so I don't remember a lot the the 80s, but for me, it would have been cartoons. For me the 80s were getting up on a Saturday, sitting in my PJs with a big bowl of cereal, and watching "GI Joe, Transformers, and Thundercats".

Of course, the 80s were made up of a lot more than just cartoons. There was Reganomics, The Cold War, Big Hair, Shoulder Pads, Wall Street, and more.

So we asked people on social media to describe the 80s in just one word. We were not disappointed with the answers.

You can also see some of the posts that people left for us on Facebook. It is funny how many people said the same thing or very close to it.

Defining 10 years with just one word is hard to do, but it seems like we all kind of think a lot about what that decade was all about.

So how would you end up describing the 80s in just one work?
