Apollo (Submitted by Kelly Parkill)

Apollo is a 3-year-old Pug. He was rescued from the side of the road, as he was thrown from a moving car. Aside from the injuries he sustained in that incident, it was very obvious he had been abused by his previous owners. He was very nervous and scared. It took a lot of love and reassurance for him to trust us. All that remains from his bad beginning is a small limp, and he has been thriving in our home. After cuddling, being outside and in the water is his favorite activity!

Penny (Submitted by Teri Holmes)

Penny is a red-tri Australian Shepherd. She loves to go for walks and also greets us with a huge smile!

Cody (Submitted by Nicole Hutton)

Cody is a 2-year-old yellow Lab/Bull Mastiff mix. His favorite thing in the world is to play chase around tables, benches or anything that resembles them, and he can lure any dog or person into chasing him with his sad puppy eyes. He is also a very accomplished thief and can quietly sneak by his parents without them having the slightest clue to steal their shoes, socks and anything else that looks fun to steal. He loves sitting on people’s laps (even though he is 75 pounds) and is a wonderfully loving and happy dog!

Enzo (Submitted by Lynsey Haggard)

Enzo is a 1.5-year-old Siberian Husky. He is an Army brat. He really enjoys being outside and running! We just relocated from Fort Benning, Ga., where he spent most days playing at the dog park making new friends. He is a very vocal puppy and loves talking! His favorite trick is to play dead. The picture of him is from his first 5k; he came in fifth place for his Dad's age group! He is very lovable, loyal and the biggest Mama's boy!

Lindy (Submitted by Lisa Tucker)

Lindy is an English Bulldog. She was a rescue dog through Long Island Bulldog Rescue. She was found roaming the streets of Brooklyn. We think she is between 3 and 4. She grew up in the city, so she prefers not to sit on the grass, as you can see from her picture! She loves the slower life here in Western New York and is happy to be out of the hustle and bustle of the city! One of her favorite pastimes since moving here is playing football!

Taco (Submitted by Sara Pacer)

Taco is a 2-year-old Chihuahua we rescued from an abusive owner. He was scrawny, skinny and scared when we got him, but through our love and care, he is now the happiest, friendliest dog I have ever seen! Every time you walk through the door, he is so excited to see you that he jumps and does little twirls, and he loves to lick pretty much everything! You get within a foot of Taco, he is going to give you kisses. He loves to burrow under the covers and curl up to take a nap. And most of all he loves to play fetch with anything he can find!

Chug (Submitted by Carol Brunner)

Great 5-month-old puppy who thinks that he is Super Pup, until he landed wrong on a small jump. He needs to be coned and casted for the next six weeks. No more pool for him, and he is very sad about that but still loves kisses and his humans. He is an Old English Bulldog.

Lexi (Submitted by Heather Modica)

Lexi is about a 1.5 years old, and we believe that she is a Chihuahua/Weiner dog (chiweenie). We adopted her in May 2012, and she is the best dog; she is our little baby. Even though she is small, she can jump about three feet in the air, and her best friend is a Great Dane named Lily. She loves rawhide bones and giving high fives, and she is very fast, but she also likes to hop around the back yard. Her favorite place to sleep at night is on my pillow right next to me (but she gets more of it than I do!).

Maxxie (Submitted by Pam Coniglio)

Maxxie loves to take a ride on her surfboard around the pool while taking a break from chasing the squirrels, rabbits and birds. She gets so thirsty and loves to drink the pool water. In this picture, you see her right after she finished trying to drink all of it.

Ferrari (Submitted by Joanie Kumiega)

Ferrari is a "people dog". She is almost 3 years old and almost 4 pounds of lovable Yorkie. Ferrari is a certified therapy dog through Therapy Dogs International. She can be found on Mondays visiting patients, family and staff at Hospice Buffalo.
