Indy is a Shakiter, born in Kokomo, Ind. to a Shepherd/Terrier mix momma and a full-blooded Akita dad. On July 30, she will turn 7.  She will have "owned" my husband and me for seven years come October 22. She is the youngest of four fur children, her feline sisters Abby, Nosy, Matthew and Marcus all love her, and she loves them right back. Here she is "posing" with a rawhide left over from last Christmas.

Moofasa is a 3-year-old Great Dane. We moved here from Florida when he was less than a year old. Just after we moved here, we lost our beloved Gray Sea. She was three when we lost her. Moofasa was so depressed after we lost her I had no choice but to get him another dog. His name is Simba -- LOL -- and he is just a little over a year old. Everyone in my neighborhood loves both of them, Moofasa especially because he has that personality that you just can't help but love him!! He loves the water, but I haven't found a place he can swim here that I am not afraid he will get hurt. My neighbors across the street are in their 70s and they come EVERY DAY and give the boys a cookie. They started that just after we moved in and have continued until now.

We adopted Owen, formally known as “Kato”, from the City of Buffalo Animal Shelter in June of 2012. He constantly wants belly rubs and to just lay by your side. Owen is the most lovable, sweetest, kindest and most loyal dog I have ever known!! He always waits for me to go outside and makes sure that I am right behind him at all times!! Owen spent over three months at the shelter (he was originally picked up as a stray) and adjusted to home life so well from being out on the street and in the shelter so long! He really has been through a lot, and you would never know it!! Owen also has learned several tricks such as paw, sit and speak. He is so willing to please his people that he will do anything for a treat :) Owen is just a love bug, and the volunteers at the shelter even nicknamed him "fanny wagger" because whenever they came to see him, he would shake his backside so much because he was soooo happy to see them!!! And he still does this now all the time, with new people especially!! Pit bulls should be renamed the “lover” breed in my opinion. He loves to give kisses and just cuddle for hours!!

Willow is a 100-pound female Yellow Lab. Her favorite thing to do in summer is to sit on the front porch on the Adirondack chair and watch the world go by. But sometimes she has trouble staying awake. She just turned 2 years old.

Mikito is a 2-year-old Cavachon -- his birthday is July 27! He is the smartest, most lovable dog you will ever meet. I really believe he is a person trapped in a dog's body. He understands exactly what you are saying to him, and if we don't understand him, he shows us what he wants. Since we got him, we have sold four of them for the breeder. He picks out his own toys too! If he wants it, he hits it with his nose; if he doesn't want it, he turns his head away from. I'm proud to say that Mikito is spoiled only because he is such a good boy and deserves to be spoiled. Once you meet him, he will win you over with his charm and well-mannered behavior! I have had more than a dozen people tell me if I look the other way, they will steal him.

Gizmo has the most energy of any dog known to man. He loves swimming and going for rides in the car. We can't keep him out of the water when we are swimming or boating (probably because he is soooo attached).

Bailey is a 7-year-old "Westie" (West Highland White Terrier). He's a well-educated pooch. The official remedial reading "buddy" at a private elementary school. Besides reading with the children, his favorite activity is what he likes to call "SMOOCHING". His favorite toy, as he affectionately calls her, is "lammie girl" a.k.a. the puppet Lamb Chop. Bailey is a "LOVER!!!"

Bella (Submitted by Sherry Hunter)

She's my only "grandbaby" so far! She's a Border Collie/Chow mix. She was rescued in Louisiana by my daughter. Her favorite toy/treat is her Kong. She gets it each day with peanut butter while my daughter gets ready for work. Bella would do anything for her peanut butter! She's getting chubby as a result! She lives in apartment and must be on a leash in the yard, so when she comes to our house, she gets the "zoomies" and runs around in the yard like crazy.

She is a Border Collie. Haley is 4 years old and afraid of her own shadow. She is normally afraid of the camera, but I got this great pic that I am submitting. She is smart and full of lots of love. We love our Border Collie lots.
