Rupert is a 6-month-old Papillion. He is so silly. Rupert loves to sit by the pool when I am on the deck -- by the way, he does not do stairs, so he is stuck on the deck -- and he must like it because when I take him down, he comes right back. Rupert also loves to take all his toys and put them on the couch, toss them down, and he gets them and puts them back.

Little Bailey is beyond precious! He didn't come into this world in the normal way. He was the only pup in the litter of the mating of my dog and my sister’s dog. He was inside the mommy dog for 69 days (we didn't know she was pregnant). He tried to come out neck forward, and it took a quick C-section to bring him to me. When the vet went to do the surgery, we didn't even know if he was alive. He was born blind in one eye and with several other medical issues. He was heaven sent, as he is the result of the two dogs my mom bought us after she passed on. He is also on YouTube, as he does this silly swim thing as he is sitting on his butt and makes his paws go as if he is swimming. He was born in January 2009 and is half Yorkie and 25 percent each Maltese and Shih Tzu. What a JOY he has been and continues to be.

Chloe (Submitted by Marcia Sypniewski)

Chloe rescued us at the SPCA, and she has brought such chaos to our house of four adults and five cats. She moved in and took over completely. She was supposed to be a 15-pound Terrier/Miniature Poodle. Well, she is definitely Terrier, but we see no poodle. She has the characteristics of a Terrier puppy. Nothing is sacred, but her favorite is paper products, and she has found a great hiding place under the coffee table; she can keep us chasing her back and forth for as long as we want to look foolish. Out of five cats, she has succeeded in making four of them afraid of her, but our one male cat named Vinny has told Chloe he is the boss, and Chloe is petrified of him. Vinny sits on the table or desk and just stares at Chloe, and Chloe's barks never end. Thank God we love her so much because she has definitely brought craziness to our house! Please ignore the messy house in this picture, but we have to cover everything with all our four-legged "children" or we would be replacing furniture every year -- and, oh yes, that is a clean basket of laundry Chloe decided to call her own. Nothing like having to wash clothes twice!!!

My name is Blue, and I am an avid horseshoe player as well as protector of my pit (also known as my bed from time to time, as seen in the picture). I am a 5-year-old Golden Retriever/Chow mix. My favorite treat is frosty paws ice cream, and I love to chase my family around the yard.

Roscoe is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, and in the picture he is getting a bath. He tried sneaking out of the yard because he doesn't like bath time, but we caught him.

Bailey was a drug dog, abandoned in Buffalo City's pound. I was looking and knew some people at the pound, so I went there and saw my Bailey with big ears. Now he has grown into them. He is now 12 years old and has dementia. It’s hard because he runs away because he does not know where he is. Glad I found him every time he ran away; now he stays in the house most of the time, but he paces back and forth.

Penny is a cute, lovable little girl. She is a 2-year-old long-haired Chihuahua. However, as you can see from her photo, she thinks that she is human and joins us for dinner every night. She waits patiently for her daddy to give in to her, and of course he does. He can't seem to resist her cute little face. Dogs are very intelligent animals, and they definitely know what buttons to push, just like kids. We love her very much, and she completes our family.

These are my 12-week-old Morkie (Maltese/Yorkie mix) puppies Freddie and Fiona!! Their favorite toys at the moment are their puppy Kongs when Mommy puts peanut butter in them. YUM! Their favorite activity at the moment is to run, run and run some more now that they're too fast for Mommy and Daddy to keep up! They both love new people and giving kisses.

Meeko is a 1.5-year-old Australian Shepherd/Collie mix. He was a rescue dog that we adopted from the Buffalo Humane Society. I am a volunteer with them, and I was fostering Meeko. He was found just left in someone's yard in Olean. After my husband and I got him healthy enough to be adopted, we were in love with this energetic puppy, so we adopted him. He loves playing with all of his toys, especially his raccoon that he has had since the day we brought him into our home. He also loves chasing the water from the sprinkler on nice summer days. He has so much energy, he doesn't know what to do with himself. He loves being around people and would rather stay up and follow our every step as if he is going to miss us giving him his favorite Purina "Hugs" treats. If he isn't too overwhelmed with the excitement of giving him a treat, he will give you high fives, and if you're lucky enough, he will even kiss you for a treat.
