Dog Park Gets The Green Light in Lancaster

Lancaster, a group of ladies is leading the pack in an initiative that will hopefully result in a dog park in town! The closest place for a dog park is probably out in East Aurora and with 6,000 licensed dogs in Lancaster, it would be super convenient and awesome to have a park for them.

The Lancaster Unleashed group is having success as they lobby for the dog park! In the Lancaster-Depew Sun last week, they announced the support the dog park has been getting.

In the midst of a new Erie County Parks Master Plan meeting Nov 15, Erie County Parks, Recreation and Forestry is in the beginning stages of planning for a dog park in Como Lake Park with Lancaster Unleashed. Although the dog park is not depicted on the Draft Master Plan Update, Erie County Executive Mark Polonzarz and Erie County Legislator, John Bruso, are supportive of the proposal, Erie County Parks, Recreation and Forestry Commissioner Rizzo said"
