Media-savvy psychologist Dr. Joyce Brothers, who appeared on television and wrote a syndicated advice column, passed away at the age of 85 yesterday (May 13).

A rep for Brothers told TMZ she died after battling a "long illness."

Brothers burst her way onto the scene in 1955 by using her knowledge about boxing to become the only woman to win the grand prize on 'The $64,000 Question.' She would later go on to give relationship advice on television, in an advice column and in Good Housekeeping magazine.

She also had small acting appearances in movies like 'The Naked Gun' and on TV shows like 'C.H.i.P.S' and 'The Love Boat.'

Brothers is survived by her daughter, sister, four granchildren and two great-grandchildren.
