Fast food workers around the country are prepared to walk off the job today.Food service employees in 150 cities are demanding an industry-wide base wage of $15 per hour, and the right to form a union.

Now the minimum wage in Seattle and San Francisco were increased to $15 earlier this year, so perhaps it will work for the rest of the country.

The current minimum wage in New York State is $8.00 per hour, with an increase to $8.75 at the end of this year.
