The FBI has joined the investigation into possible corruption in the Buffalo tow truck business. Buffalo tow truck operators have long been aggressively competing for business, and the investigation ramped up after a tow truck driver was shot and killed.

The City of Buffalo Police Department started their own investigation more than a year ago into whether police officers had accepted bribes from tow truck drivers. Mayor Byron Brown and the Corporation Council are expected to announced recommendations on how to better regulate tow truck operations later this week.
