Firefighters were called to battle a blaze at an apartment complex in South Buffalo early this morning.

South Park Avenue was temporarily shut down between Abbott Road and Good Avenue while crews put out the fire, and a woman who lives in the building said that the fire seems to have started in the upper apartment.

The five residents living in the apartment complex were able to get out safely, but one person was take the hospital after getting hurt before the fire started.

A Buffalo firefighter was also injured while battling the fire, and he was taken to ECMC for neck and shoulder injuries.

Damage has been estimated at $60,000 and the cause is under investigation.
