Yesterday's 'Meternity' book discussion got you ALL riled up!  In case you missed it, a woman wrote a book saying that, even though she didn't have kids, she (and everyone) should be able to take "maternity" leave.

Here are even MORE comments from our Facebook post.

This morning, THIS survey came out, revealing that the average bridesmaid actually spends $284 LESS than groomsmen.  Almost ALL of us found THAT hard to believe...but whatever.

Flipping the script on this one....as a 41-year-old woman, I have virtually furnished all of my friends' and family's' homes, silverware drawers, wine cabinets and later, padded their nurseries and kids' savings accounts.

DON'T GET ME WRONG.  This has NOTHING to do with the actual marriage.  Weddings are wonderful. Love is grand.

Which is also incidentally about what a single person can expect to fork over in a year, to those about to have TWO incomes.

My point is, while it's a lovely notion to help a couple get on their feet, if you're over 25 and single, YOU'RE the one who needs the most help.

Why couldn't I throw myself a "Single Shower" to get the stuff I still don't have, but that I've purchased for everyone else?  I COVET that stand-up mixer.  I'd LOVE dishes that match.  Do you know what I'd do for a real vacuum cleaner?

What are YOUR thoughts on a Single Shower?  Would you throw one? Would you attend one? Would you get a gift?  What would you put on your registry?

BTW, a few of you referred to this episode of "Sex and the City" called "A Woman's Right to Shoes" where Carrie Bradshaw has this exact same argument...
