Former Buffalo police officer John Cirulli appeared in Federal Court on Monday, and was sentenced to one-year probation for two civil rights charges. A bystander videotaped John Cirulli kicking and slapping John Willet while he was handcuffed on the ground back on April 19th, and on the video can hear Willet begging Cirulli to "please stop."

John Cirulli resigned from his position after accepting a plea deal in May, where he admitted to hitting John Willet on the ground, and once more while he was in the police car.

Cirulli could have faced up to two-years in prison and a two-hundred-thousand-dollar fine, however his attorney filed a court document this past week asking that he only be sentenced to probation.
