The National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Warning for Chautauqua County and a Frost Advisory for southern Erie County.  These warnings are in effect from around midnight until 9 a.m. Monday.

Basically, we hope you enjoyed Spring because Winter is back.  OK, it's not that serious but still stings a little none-the-less.  The warnings are in effect across interior portions of the counties, away from the immediate lake shore.  You can see on the map above which areas will affect you.

Temperatures are forecasted to drop to around 30 degrees for both Chautauqua and southern Erie counties, which can damage tender vegetation and outdoor plants.  This is the biggest whammy, because just like you, I got excited and began planting when it looked like Spring was finally here!  Steps should be taken to protect tender outdoor plants because this freeze can negatively affect their growth.

As always we will get past this, but it is a reminder that winter is only a day away in Western New York!
