I was introduced to George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic (otherwise known as P-Funk) in the early 90s when I was a student at SUNY Fredonia.  Then, the movie PCU hit the theatres, and even more of my peers joined the funkalution!

But George has been funkin' it up for YEARS.  The now-75-year-old Clinton formed his first group, The Parliaments, in 1955, while he worked at a barber shop, straightening hair!

Flash-forward 40 or so years, and the music of the 90s had a funk-invasion, from Dr. Dre to the Red Hot Chili Peppers and everything in between.  Clinton's worked with MC Hammer, LL Cool J, and Snoop Dogg, just to name a few.  A Grammy winner and member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, George Clinton's still got it, and he's bringing it all (minus the dreadlocks) to UB Center for the Arts on Sunday, February 26th!

Showtime is 7:30 and is part of our sister station, WBLK's, celebration of Black History Month.  Free your mind, funkify your soul...and turn this motha' out!  See you there!!!
