Firstly, I can't POSSIBLY thank you enough for your calls and texts this morning, after I shared the news below.  Your care and concern and positive thoughts and prayers means more to me than you could ever know.

A few weeks ago, I went to Southtowns Radiology to have my mammogram, as I just celebrated my 40th birthday.

You can see my entire experience here.  (Please note, the first 30 seconds of audio doesn't work...rest assured after that, you'll be able to hear and see the rest just fine).

My results were perfectly clear.  :)

Shortly after the piece was shot, I shared it with my mom, who realized it had been 5 years since her last mammogram.  She decided to schedule hers.

Her mammogram showed a couple of small spots, initially thought to be calcium deposits.

After a biopsy, it was determined to be Stage 1 breast cancer.  It's a very common form, and has a HIGH cure rate.  It's still scary, especially in that there's NO cancer in my family, on my mom's or dad's side.

I am not meaning to bring you DOWN on a Friday. I'm wanting to bring you UP...and encourage you to get your mammogram. Schedule today. Go with a friend.  Tell your mom, your sister, your aunt, your grandma, your best friend.

A friend once said "Sometimes a LET DOWN...is a SET UP....for something bigger and better."

Lets take this as an opportunity to set UP for GREAT THINGS.

This video got my mom to go get a mammogram.  Maybe it helped save her life.  Please share this, tweet this, spread the word however you can.  Thank you.
