Earlier today we heard from FOX chairman Kevin Reilly how 'Glee' would handle the death of actor Cory Monteith in its upcoming fifth season, but it seems the real bombshell didn't drop until after Reilly's TCA press tour presentation. We've known that 'Glee' had already been renewed for seasons 5 and 6, but will FOX definitively end the series in 2015?

Take Reilly's words with a grain of salt, but the FOX head had some surprising words for the future of 'Glee' in answering reporter questions after the press conference. Whether or not Monteith's death had any impact on the series' trajectory, Reilly believes season 6 may well be the last for McKinley's favorite singers.

I would not anticipate it goes beyond two more seasons. Never say never, but there’s two very clear [story] arcs to get to that end and conclude. If we discover a new crop of kids and there’s some breakout we like...[but] right now, we’re thinking two seasons.

Of course, 'Glee' may well reinvent itself over the next two seasons, or find a way to wrap up existing arcs while introducing new characters that carry the series beyond two more years. Cory Monteith's death naturally dealt a huge blow to the already diminished series' viability, but both FOX and series creator Ryan Murphy have quite a bit of time with which to reevaluate and decide the ultimate end of 'Glee.'

In addition to Monteith and series star Jayma Mays' announced departure, longtime series stars Heather Morris, Mark Salling, Amber Riley and Harry Shum, Jr. have stepped down as regulars, while Melissa Benoist (Marley), Jacob Artist (Jake), Becca Tobin (Kitty) and ‘The Glee Project‘ alumni Blake Jenner and Alex Newell were promoted as such. ‘American Idol‘ runner-up Adam Lambert was announced to join the cast for season 5, but it remains to be seen in what role or for how long.

Well, what say you? Do you think 'Glee' should close up shop after season 6, or could the series find re-invigoration in the wake of all its recent turnover? Tell us what you want from the future of the series in the comments!
