A sponsored Facebook ad stated that William Shatner is dead.

Oh social media how inaccurate you can be. How many times have you shared false information without even knowing it? I am certainly guilty of it. Last week I shared how Pamela Anderson was dead and the website that linked it, advertised as ABCNEWS.com this was totally and utterly false! It can be so frustrating trying to decipher what is real and what is fake on social media. To have people share this false information knowingly, ought to be ashamed of themselves. It is absolutely sickening! Have you ever shared false information on Facebook without fact checking ahead of time? I know we all have been guilty of it at some point. I am a firm believer to double, and even triple check your sources. Mine claimed to have come from ABCNews.com and it was so utterly false. My Nana always said there are three sides to every story, "Yours, mine, and the truth." Let's spread more love and less rumors and make social media a happy place. We can dream, can't we?

This is relatively ironic because the Star Trek star turns 87 years old today. What a way to wake up to social media thinking you are dead! Happy Birthday William Shatner!
