HS Football Playoff Brackets Set

The field is set for the Section VI high school football playoffs, beginning with quarterfinal action this weekend. The semifinals are next weekend, and the Section VI championship for each classification to be held at Ralph Wilson Stadium on November 5^th and 6^th.

The more intriguing first round matchups include defending Class AA champs Jamestown at Niagara Falls, North Tonawanda at West Seneca East in Class A, Dunkirk at Burgard in Class B and Lackawanna traveling to Gowanda in Class C action.

Last year’s Section VI champions were Jamestown (Class AA), Sweet Home (A), Cheektowaga (B), Maple Grove (C) and Randolph (D).  Maple Gove, Randolph and Cheektowaga have realistic chances to repeat while Jamestown is considered a long shot.  Sweet Home did not qualify for this year’s playoffs.
