It's been a huge cross to bear, but I'm willing to go public.  I admire Honey Boo Boo.  AND her family. There. A HUGE weight has just been lifted off my shoulders.  And yet...I still feel dirty somehow.

Let me explain...

Like so many of us when flipping through the channels, I occasionally will stop at reality TV...not actively LOOKING for a particular show but stopping to check in.  In my case I check in to see if ANY of the shows have gotten better.  And what I mean by better is if they have ANY REALITY to them.  FAT CHANCE LORAINE!!!!

In the vast desert that is reality TV, among the WORST shows is KEEPING UP WITH THE KARDASHIANS.  I would rather have dental work than watch that show.  Not kidding.  Are we supposed to care about these people?  On so many levels I really hate them.  HATE...a strong word, I know.  Part of me is ashamed to say that.  The other part...not so much.

Am I supposed to care that Chris Jenner is having lunch with her old boyfriend without Bruces knowledge?  Am I supposed to BELIEVE THAT???  I don't think so.  It's scripted...AND BADLY.  I don't know these people but I really don't see love there in that family...all I see is dollar signs.  How can they increase the "Kardashian empire"...sickening.

Then there's Honey Boo Boo.

THIS FAMILY IS REAL!!!!  They eat Mama's homemade spaghetti sauce made from ketchup and butter....YUM!!!!  They dirt bike and LOVE GETTING MUDDY!!!! What could be more real than that!  Little Honey Boo Boo is hardly your average beauty queen, but her mother makes her believe that she can do ANYTHING...now I'm NOT a fan of children's pageants, but good for you Mama!  This kid has self-confidence and is obviously loved by her family...warts and all.  Now THAT'S reality I can believe in.

As the Jenner/Kardashian clan count their money (do they REALLY need more?)  The Honey Boo Boo family probably has something they haven't had before...a certain amount of financial security and I, for one, am happy for them.

Now maybe they'll be able to buy a house NOT right next to the railroad tracks...but I secretly hope not!  It just wouldn't be the same...
