The city of Las Vegas is declaring today - Wednesday, November 5th - as "Britney Spears Day."

Sin City will honor Britney at a special event on the Strip's LINO Promenade, where she will be presented with a key to the Strip by the Clark County Comission Chairman.

Fans of the pop princess are invited to come and celebrate with Britney during the official proclamation ceremony, which kicks off at 5:30P.M. Caesars Entertainment is also giving away tickets to Britney's "Piece of Me" show to the first 100 people named Britney that attend today's festivities.

Britney Spears' residency in Vegas was recently renewed for 2 more years. However, she will be taking some time off for the holidays, and is set to return with post-holiday shows starting on December 27, 2014.

The city of Las Vegas is declaring Wednesday "Britney Day."  Sin City will be paying tribute to the pop princess with a special event on the Strip's LINQ Promenade.  The star herself is expected to be on hand to receive the key to the Strip, presented by the Clark County Commission Chairman.  Fans are invited to watch the official proclamation taking place at 5:30 p.m.  Caesars Entertainment, owner of Britney's "Piece of Me" residency at Planet Hollywood, is spearheading "Britney Day" and offering up a promotion to help celebrate the singer -- and her famous name.  The first 100 people named Britney who show up at the Promenade starting at 8 a.m. will receive a pair of tickets to her show that evening.

Britney tweeted Tuesday that she "can't wait" to meet "all the Britneys" and the rest of her fans.  She'll be taking a break from her show after this weekend's concerts, and is set to return for a string of post-holiday dates starting December 27th.
