Jeffrey Basil was back in State Supreme Court on Tuesday to accept a plea deal following the death of Air National Guardsman William Sager, Jr.

For the first time in open court, Jeffrey Basil admitted that he caused the death of William Sager, Jr. at Molly's Pub more than a year ago.

Judge Penny Wolfgang asked Jeffrey Basil if he intended to cause serious physical injury to Mr. Sager? Basil replied "Yes your honor."

Basil pleaded guilty to First Degree Manslaughter and will be sentenced to at least 15 years behind bars, with a maximum sentence of 21 years. A sentencing hearing will held in July where Judge Penny Wolfgang will decide the length of Basil's sentence.

William Sager's family had to approve of the plea deal, or it would not have been an option for Basil.
