Marvel’s Netflix schedule hasn’t gotten any less confusing with the addition of a Punisher spinoff alongside Defenders team-up filming, but Jessica Jones fans might finally have something to look forward to. Krysten Ritter says Season 2 will start production immediately after The Defenders, for which she’s already begun training.

Ritter spoke to DigitalSpy of the crowded scheduling, noting that both The Defenders and Season 2 of Jessica Jones might share a bit of production time:

They’ll be back-to-back. I don’t know if they’ll overlap a little bit … It’s about to be a serious undertaking. I’m starting my physical training - lots of weight training and boxing.

In addition to teasing the potential that “We all live in the same universe, so there are endless possibilities [who will come out and play],” Ritter also slyly suggested the possibility of appearing in Luke Cage, even as the next series aims to flesh out the character’s pre-Jessica Jones life.

Elsewhere of Season 2, we know that The Returned, True Blood and Supernatural alum Raelle Tucker has joined to fill the void left by former executive producer Liz Friedman. Melissa Rosenberg will remain aboard as executive producer and showrunner, working with Tucker.

Luke Cage will debut on September 30, while Iron Fist gears up production for a likely 2017 premiere. The Defenders is said to begin production later this year, potentially precluding a role for the Netflix characters in Avengers: Infinity War, or whatever they end up calling it.

More formal announcements of Marvel’s Netflix lineup are likely due in the coming weeks, but where might Jessica Jones take us in Season 2?
