Former President Jimmy Carter held a press conference on Thursday to address his recent melanoma cancer diagnosis.

He appeared to be in good spirits when he announced that he will begin radiation treatment for cancer that has spread to his brain. Doctors said that four small spots were found on Carter's brain and one on his liver.

Jimmy Carter told the media that when he first learned that the cancer had spread to his brain, he thought that he only had a few weeks to live, but also believes that the future is in God's hands and he's prepared for whatever comes his way.
