The women at the forefront of the Richard Matt and David Sweat's escape from the Clinton County Correctional Facility was back in court on Tuesday.

Joyce Mitchell pleaded guilty to promoting prison contraband and criminal facilitation. As part of a plea deal, she could spend up to seven years in prison for assisting Richard Matt and David Sweat with their escape.

Joyce Mitchell was the first of more than a dozen employees who were placed on administrative leave following the escape and investigation.
