While Kelly Clarkson‘s eyes had “been opened to so much hate” this week, they’ve also been opened up to a lot of love — on the charts.

Clarkson’s Twitter came under fire after she vocalized her support for Republican candidate (and fellow Texan) Ron Paul in the 2012 presidential race. However, it looks like Clarkson — and her wallet — are getting the last laugh. Amazon.com sales of her latest record, ‘Stronger,’ have tripled since the controversy broke.

The Hollywood Reporter notes that Clarkson’s sales have risen meteorically since her testimonial tweets. ‘Stronger’ was at No. 41 on Amazon’s ‘Movers and Shakers in Music’ list on Tuesday — and at their press time had since soared to No. 13 — and currently rests at No. 4 on the list and No. 3 in overall music rankings, having a 333 percent spike in sales!

The message that sparked it all? “I love Ron Paul,” the ‘American Idol‘ alum wrote on WhoSay on Dec. 29. “I liked him a lot during the last republican nomination and no one gave him a chance. If he wins the nomination for the Republican party in 2012 he’s got my vote. Too bad he probably won’t.”

This further proves that what doesn’t kill the outspoken Clarkson makes her — and her record sales — stronger.
