4 cups flour
1 lb. butter
1 lb. cream cheese


2 lbs. walnuts, ground fine
2 egg whites, beaten stiff
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 tsp. lemon juice and grated rind

Mix dough ingredients together, and knead until shiny. Refrigerate overnight. Roll dough (divide for easier handling) until about 1/8 inch thick, then cut into 3-inch squares and place scant teaspoon of filling in center of each. Roll, starting with a corner, and shape into crescents, and place on cookie sheet. Bake 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool slightly, sprinkle generously with powdered sugar.
