Laura Daniels’ Nightmare Coffee Morning + 3 Coffee Hacks
This was the very UNwelcome sign I saw taped to our coffee machine this morning at 4:30am.
Not cool, man. Not cool.
Also not cool? The fact that there were not one, but two coffee-related stories that came across my desk this morning. Well, my caffeine-deficiency should have no effect on my sharing of this java-inspired information, so here ya go.
First, what would happen if two breakfast staples got together and had a baby? A caffeinated bagel, that's what! Einstein Brothers Bagels just combined the two using an espresso and coffee-cherry flour. Each bagel has about 32 milligrams of caffeine, about the same as a can of Coke.
Here's what else I learned...call them "coffee hacks", if you like...
- 1
Too Bitter? Add Salt!
Apparently you can add it to coffee grinds, or just sprinkle some in a brewed cup. (Bonus: save calories because you'll use less creamer to cut the bitter!)
- 2
DIY Flavored Creamer
Save cash by making your own, and it's so simple! Add a few drops of vanilla extract or hazelnut extract (whatever you like!) to half-and-half. Healthier AND cheaper!

Froth at Home!
Again, so easy to make your own frothy milk! Put milk in a mason jar, shake it up, remove the lid, and nuke it for about 30 seconds. Voila!
