Laura's #1 Track Throwback airs weekday mornings at 7:05AM, and today we're focusing on one of the biggest diva's in the Music Industry... MARIAH CAREY.

Mariah released her debut self-titled studio album in 1990 and has dominated the music charts ever since. The album went multi-platinum and produced four consecutive number one singles in the U.S.

With the guidance of executives and producers at Columbia Records, Mariah went on to release five more successful albums, including Emotions (1991), Music Box (1993), Merry Christmas (1994), Daydream (1995) and Butterfly (1997).

Mariah Carey left Columbia Records in 2000 after signing a $100 million recording contract with Virgin Records America. A year later Mariah suffered a physical and emotional breakdown just before the release of her film Glitter and was bought out of her contract for $50 million.

After a bit of an unsuccessful period, Mariah signed a contract with Island Records in 2002, and finally returned to the top of the charts with The Emancipation of Mimi in 2005.

Throughout her 25 year career, Mariah Carey has sold more than 200 million records worldwide, which totes her as one of the best-selling music artists of all time.

Mariah Carey is currently taking up residency at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, where she performs all 18 of her number one hits.
