Your Welcomed Alternative for Family and Matrimonial Law

We know that good advice is hard to find -- that’s why Mix 96 brings you the attorneys from Brown & Kelly on “Ask A Lawyer” every Tuesday at 8:45 a.m.

"Lead paint was commonly used in residences prior to 1978. As there are many homes in Western New York which were build prior to then, some of them may still have lead paint as people simply painted over it. Homeowners need to make themselves aware of the available information on lead paint and, if they intend to rent the dwelling, need to provide the required disclosure of their knowledge of lead paint in the house to the tenants. If a child living at or visiting the home is found to have lead levels (which are checked as part of regular childhood screenings), the local Department of Health will become involved and conduct an investigation of the home. If necessary, they will provide information on how to properly get rid of the lead paint."
