Lucille Ball never forgot her roots. Whether as Lucy Ricardo in I Love Lucy, or doing interviews in real life, she always identified Celeron, NY as her home town. Celeron borders Jamestown, which hosts Lucy Fest each year to commemorate her career. This year's event celebrates the 100th anniversary of her birth, starting tomorrow [Wednesday].

Highlights include:

-performances by comedy stars Joan Rivers [who appeared with Ball in her 70's sitcom "Here's Lucy"] and Paula Poundstone,

-outdoor entertainment Friday and Saturday nights

-a 100th birthday parade, and

-an attempt to set the world's record for most people dressed as Lucy Ricardo at the same place and time!
